Volume Two - UK

Mountains can make you feel very small but very lucky at the same time. They deserve respect. To take the train up Snowdon puts the money in the pockets of commerce and takes the respect out of the mountain. Don't go up on the train, wander around up the top for 10 minutes, take your photo, drop your litter then go home thinking you've 'done' Snowdon. Walk up, breathe the air, curse as your calf muscles scream, sigh as the mist drifts in, get rained on, snowed on and hailed on and then when you reach the top, in the dead of winter when the train doesn't run and you have the summit to yourself, remember how small but very lucky you are and enjoy the view.
