Volume Two - Sri Lanka

The east coast of Sri Lanka, although very beautiful, is a strangely remote and desolate place with a tinge of danger thrown in. This is mostly due to the on-going Tamil Tiger conflict which is more active in these parts. To get there it is a relatively long and bumpy ride through roadblocks and away from the usual tourist hang outs. This photo, for me, went part way in capturing some of that sense of barren remoteness, although it is really difficult explaining fully what it is like over there. Perhaps some of my other photos from the east coast will help!
