Volume Two - Sri Lanka

This photo was taken for a post-tsunami recovery project based in Madampagama on the south west coast of Sri Lanka. The project is a joint effort between The Sustainable Trust in the UK and The Centre for Environment and Development in Sri Lanka. For more details on this project click here.

I quite often sat under this palm drinking papaya juice whilst watching Phil surfing. I loved the ladder tied with coconut coir and was almost tempted to climb it but knew that my nerve would probably go by the time I reached halfway. One morning I had just got out of the nearby lagoon where I had been taking shots of the underwater world and I decided to go for a juice. As I had my camera on me, I decided to taken this shot but noticed that my housing had steamed up. I framed it up anyway whilst waiting for it to clear and realised that I really did quite like the result after all.
