I'm a great collector of feathers. I find them fascinating and such a work of art and wonder. As with most people I've spent many an hour watching birds fly wondering what it must be like, up there, just you and the wind. I believe Native American Indians saw fallen feathers as a gift. I do too. So finding this feather lying in the dunes was a lovely gift for me and therefore formed the foreground to this image. The island in the background (featured in the opening scenes of the a fairly recent James Bond movie) is also a roosting ground for seabirds which has added symbolism for me in this image.
