Travelling Light Photographic Images Volume Two - Cornwall |

You may or may not have noticed the use of foreground in a lot of my images. I've only noticed myself recently how much I do use it. It just seems to be a natural thing for me to look for but I didn't realise quite how many people didn't consider it. On the evening I took this photo, I'd watched with interest as many people snapped away at the setting sun from the top of the cliff. The sun and sea was all they seemed to be focussed on, capturing it pretty much from the same position each time and all potentially including signs, random passing people and dogs and the worn out grassy pathway on the cliff top. A little more thought can make a big difference for an image to work better so I would encourage people to look for foreground, cut out unneccessary objects, try different angles and heights and don't just snap away but be patient, study the changing light and above all, enjoy the moment.
