Volume Two - Cornwall

This shot was taken on Christmas Day. We got up early to catch low tide and took my parents for a walk along the beach to the cave where the holy well is. There we placed candles which lit up the limestone 'terraces' created by the slowly seeping water from the spring. A tribute to nature on an originally pagan celebration day. Outside the quietness of the cave, nature was stirring and a storm was brewing. The smoothness of the sand in the lower two thirds for me almost symbolises the transition from quiet reflection to the external wild elements of nature.
