We had stopped on Highway One to search for a geocache (www.geocaching.com if you are curious to know what that is) but the waves looked interesting to check out too. As we walked off the highway we saw this sign which, to us, clearly indicated a warning that this was a fiercely defended local surf spot. As threatening as it seemed, I also thought it was a creative way to put it and also wondered whether it was a take on the expression SoCal (So Californian). Nobody was around so we checked out the geocache as well as the waves.
