Phil had intended to surf whilst in California. However, a snowboarding injury in Alaska in the week beforehand had put pay to that. Cue a very disappointed Phil and an equally disappointed Scooby who had intended to shoot some surfing shots. However, there were moments when I was kind of relieved. Apart from the talk of the threat of shark attacks, there were the heavy waves that we witnessed. Still I’m sure that if he had gone in, I would have forgotten all that and been caught up in the excitement of seeing my boy out there living the California surfing dream. Next time I will make sure he stays away from snowboards......
