Amongst my personal favourites of this volume. You don’t see starfish very often and when you do it feels like a scene out of a childhood storybook. Phil was surfing and so I was exploring the shoreline, in between taking shots of him on waves, when I saw this one. I would have taken just a photo of the starfish alone but the addition of the scattered pebbles and especially the approaching white water of a wave just topped it off for me.
