The Trinity Tree is a well known landmark in Dingle. It stands next to St Mary’s Church and the three trunks of the tree have been carved with biblical characters representing the Holy Trinity. The carvings are quite beautiful in close up but I wanted to capture the whole tree in its location and was particularly pleased that on this day it was an unusually blue sky for a normally rain soaked Ireland. I liked the shape of it against the sky despite the fact that I found the idea of the tree now being pretty much dead quite sad.
