Every evening it seemed pelicans would take to the air and fly from south to north. I don’t know why but I hardly saw any at that time of day fly in the opposite direction. I tried on several occasions to catch a great shot from below but they are surprisingly quick for such graceful and large flyers. This was the closest I got and, although I didn’t manage to get a full frame shot, I did at least catch the evening light dancing off the underside.
