Volume Three - Wildlife

I became hugely fascinated with pelicans whilst we were in California. They are larger than most birds I am used to in the UK, they are clunky but graceful, they have an air of prehistoric about them and most of all they seem full of character. I’d seen quite a few pelicans by this point, mostly flying past or above, but when I saw this one flying directly towards me, I was transfixed by its immense wingspan. Luckily I managed to pull myself together quick enough to get this shot.
