Lest we forget what beauty lies on our own doorstep, I have included this shot of a pigeon I saw one day up Carn Brea. It is far from wild; the ring on its foot indicating it is a racing pigeon, so it is either lost or enjoying a short excursion. Either way, it is very easy to forget that those things that we are used to seeing most are still very beautiful if you choose to stop and look at them with fresh eyes.
