Walking along the seafront at La Jolla we came across this colony of sea lions perched atop a rock. After getting over the idea of how on earth they had heaved their huge bodies so far on top of a rock, I then became immersed in the drama of their everyday relationships. It was better than any soap opera on TV. ‘Old Toothy’ here was definitely the main character and had plenty of lines in this particular episode.
