Volume Three - Wildlife

We saw these pretty much all the way along Highway One through the Big Sur. They were immense. We didn’t actually know what they were and imagined they were some kind of eagle. After sending this photo to my sister, a wildlife biologist who specialises in birds, she instantly identified it as a turkey vulture and I felt a little foolish for not seeing the vulture similarity sooner. I think I could excuse myself a little though as, although we seem to have buzzards on every other post on the way in to our village, we really don’t get that many vultures in Cornwall.
