I start off this wildlife section with a photo of one of my favourite birds. People always look at the so called negative aspects of the much maligned herring gull and forget how beautiful they are. The coastline without gulls would be an extremely dull and sad place as far as I’m concerned. We used to have one that regularly visited and I named her Beaky. I do miss that interaction now.
