Mother and Daughter, Kovalam, Southern India.

It was quite dark inside the shop as I stepped in from the stark midday sun but the shelves were lit up with layer upon layer of colour. Indian gods, printed in various guises on clothing and throws, hung from the rafters. “Your mother would love this colour”, the daughter said as she unfurled yet another vivid bed sheet in front of me. The mother nodded in agreement and I laughed as my feet completely disappeared under a mountain of material.
