Unseen footsteps and voices echoed around the tall sandy walls, bouncing back and forth between them. Like a child I wandered the maze of alleyways and courtyards. The voices and footsteps eventually faded leaving me alone with the heat for a few moments. Then the quiet was broken again by approaching footsteps, running short and heavy like a child. I turned to admire a simple archway and the running child is framed for a second before he continues on his way with faded footsteps. A moment of broken silence is captured in a silent image, a decisive moment never to be repeated.
