Vixen Tor, Dartmoor National Park, Devon.
As with most of Dartmoor there’s magic in this place, but here it’s special. Here there is a pixie behind every dwarfed tree, riding on the back of every pony that passes and peering from every crack on the face of the tor. As the light fades and the air cools the silence enfolds me, makes me whisper for fear of disturbing that which I can’t see. Vulnerable in the real world, I’m now secure in the presence of this dark rock and rain soaked moss.
