The first signs of autumn greeted me as I strode out from Westmoor to walk the fields. It had been a memorable summer and my mind was now reminiscing over the warm evenings under the stars sipping home made wine with friends, conversation soft and meaningful. But now autumn nipped and pinched at my skin and my heart grew heavier with each step. As usual Frair followed, her ears pricked up with canine intuition, her eyes studied my sorrow as her nose sniffed the cooling air. She stopped as I turned, crouched and captured that moment, that connection between me and her, between summer and autumn, between sorrow and happiness.
